ViDe Video Teleconferencing Working Group CharterWorking Group GoalsThe ViDe Video Teleconferencing Working Group explores and develops new technologies and techniques in support of IP-based interactive video teleconferencing. The Working Group is particularly focused on the development and refinement of tools and protocols for signaling, security, metadata and directory services in support of video teleconferencing. It is expected that the products of the Working Group will generally lead and contribute to the development and subsequent ratification of standards through appropriate international bodies, in particular the International Telecommunications Union and the Internet Engineering Task Force. The Working Group from time to time sponsors projects in which to explore specific research questions. Membership in any of the Working Group projects constitutes membership in the Working Group itself. There are no Working Group memberships outside of project participation. Membership guidelines are unique for each project. Any individual participating in a Video Teleconferencing Working Group project is considered an active ViDe member. See ViDe membership guidelines for more information.
