Virage would like thank the members of ViDe for giving us the opportunity to participate in this years Digital Video Workshop. We hope you find our contributions useful and will invite us back again next year. If you have any questions about how Virage software or services could help you with your digital video encoding, indexing, archiving, Webcasting or publishing needs please feel free to contact Andrew Devlin (adevlin @virage .com) for more information.

Unzip instructions are as follows (for playing archived webcast directly from your hard drive):

  1. Unzip the contents of the .zip file (desired session) to an empty directory on your local hard drive.

  2. Navigate via Explorer to the directory where you unzipped the contents of the zip file.

  3. Double click on the index.html file. This file will launch will launch all the necessary files, including the PowerPoint Slides, video and Virage template to watch this particular session.

  4. If you wish to burn the archived webcast to a cd, when the end user inserts the cd into their player an autorun.inf file will run and the player, PowerPoint slides and Virage template will self-launch and start playing the webcast. If you wish to burn the archived webcast to a cd for distribution just burn the entire contents of the zip file to a cd and you'll be set.

If you have any problems or questions please contact Chris Torkelson at ctorkelson @virage .com

Archived Webcast features include:

  • Synchronized PowerPoint Slides to the video.

  • Searchability into the entire session. Just enter a keyword into the search box and you will be taken to that particular point in the presentation where your search term was found.

  • Rolling your cursor over the Table of Contents of the presentation flips you through the slides without interrupting the video

  • Time code durations are displayed along with the slide so you can see how much time was spent on each slide.

  • Presenter information is available for VOD

  • Some of the presentations include a few polls and Q&A but are also available on an archive file. File attachments could also be included but were not part of the ViDe presentations.
