TERENA Technical Report: TF-STREAM: Real Time Multimedia Applications

This report summarises the work of the Task Force on Real Time Multimedia Applications (TF-STREAM). From December 1999 until June 2001, the Task Force investigated challenging topics associated with the running and managing of video streaming and videoconferencing. Fifteen participants from European countries collaborated regularly in the activities of TF-STREAM, coordinated by Egon Verharen from SURFnet. Since 1999 the Task Force met four times in face-to- face meetings and three times via cascaded multi-point H.323 videoconferences. The Task Force was closed in June 2001, but TERENA is still running a successful public mailing list <streaming@terena.nl>. The information in this document is supported by TF-STREAM’s website:
